Thanks to Our Major Sponsors and Supporters

Cargill Corporation is one of Newark’s oldest businesses and has also been a long-time sponsor of the Viola Blythe Center. We are indebted to Cargill Corporation and their employees for their continuing support of our activities. Through their ongoing support, literally thousands of families have been helped.

The Alameda County Firefighter’s Association is another long-term supporter of the Viola Blythe Center. We are a major benefactor of their annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. At Thanksgiving, the firefighters collect food and funds for use by the Center.

The City of Newark continues to be a wonderful supporter of the Viola Blythe Center. The City provides us with a building where we distribute food and clothing and process client services. The City thought so highly of Viola Blythe and the service she provided those in need, they named the annual Volunteer of the Year Award after her.

The Newark Police Association is a wonderful supporter of the Viola Blythe Center. The Police Association provides turkeys for either Thanksgiving or Christmas for families in need. They have also provided bicycles for the children and support us in other important ways.

Republic Services supports many of the programs at the Center that directly benefit those in need. They hold community food drives, especially during the Holiday’s. They also provide financial assistance for direct service to our clients.

Fremont Bank Foundation is a philanthropic arm of Fremont Bank. They have offered long-term support of the Viola Blythe Center by providing grants for the purchase of food and basic necessities to low-income residents and families during the Holidays.

The Newark Rotary Foundation is a philanthropic arm of the Newark Rotary Club. They have provided funding for the Center to buy food and other supplies for families in need. They also have provided funding so that we could purchase equipment that improves our operation.

Washington Hospital Healthcare System supports our programs by providing funding for families especially during the holidays.

First Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church - both Newark churches provide monthly funding and participate in special programs during the holidays.

Boy Scouts of America - provide over 4,000 cans of food each year from their annual food collection program in November.

Supervisor Elisa Marquez - provides wonderful support to the Viola Blythe Center thru financial grants that help us keep our doors open.
